Re: Ticwatch E: Standalone GPS not working

... Wrote to support twice, and got the same reply both times: you need your phone to be connected to the watch to have GPS. ... The watch was specifically advertised that it does NOT need a connected phone (or any connection for that matter, except perhaps an initial connection at first fix (depen...

Re: Ticwatch S screen unresponsive

I have had this twice. A complete reboot helped in my case. That is, a loooooong press on the button to turn off, then another to turn back on, since getting to do it via menu won't work when it is behaving like that.

Re: Android Wear Oreo

This was updated yesterday: https://support.google.com/androidwear/thread/25693?hl=en. It shows the TicWatch in the "Watches that are currently pursuing the Android Wear Oreo (8.0) update" section. Hopefully this means soon! Well, these ticwatch S&E's have been on that list for quite a while (if no...

Re: GPS GLONASS / Beidou support

I also noticed this when testing the stand-alone gps functionality. However, I am not sure if it somehow ends up listing all satellites as "GPS" instead of differentiating the other systems. Then again, it seemed to only see ~7-8 satellites in half of sky (quarter of all space around) which would ma...

Re: There’s actually NOTHING in ticwatch-s straps

I also suggested possibility of a passive radiator (though not with that term) earlier on kickstarter comments, where this issue also came up. So I tested: If there is a passive radiator inside the band, it seems to be useless. Covering the band in foil did practically nothing to signal strength, bu...

Re: Metric on Ticwatch S

This is a known issue, apparently caused by Google. Googling for it finds several places with comments, and seems the reason is that the watch locale (and thus units) is based on the language choice of the paired phone. If a watch app does not have its own settings for locale/language/units, it typi...

Re: Updated to Stable MIUI 9 and now I cant connect to watch

While your description of what you are doing might be less than precise (and perhaps you are doing things correctly after all, but it is still failing), if I follow what you write exactly, there is a mistake... Did you read the user guide booklet that game with the watch carefully? Especially the pa...

Re: E-Compass Failure

Seems the Dec 26 OTA ( https://forum.mobvoi.com/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=3077 ) has fixed this one. After the usual calibration routine (of course, since Android devices seem to all lose calibration very very easily), compass and map apps were pointing/oriented very nicely the way they should, even when...

Re: Ticwatch E battery life

I think I read somewhere that one of those multi-face apps can also be better for the battery life, if a suitable face is chosen. Might just need quite a bit of (slow) trial and error. Haven't tried myself, yet, since the default one I ended up (accidentally) swithing to seems to just fine.

Re: List here: things that should be fixed.

In another thread (or somewhere else), I read that the "misc steps" was apparently caused by another app running/being enabled, too; i.e. in a way, those "steps" got counted twice. So, seems there is some kind of software issue at play, too. (And there could be multiple step counting inaccuracy reas...
