Simple guide to pairing and updating Ticwatch S & E

Post by Jamie » Mon Mar 05, 2018 6:30 am

Setting Up Ticwatch S & E
Note: Please ensure that Bluetooth is on
Before you start, make sure your watch and phone are compatible.
1. Turn on your watch.

2. On your phone, open the Android Wear app . Tap Set it up.

3. When you see your watch’s name, tap it.

4. You’ll see a code on your phone and watch.

- If the codes are the same: On your phone, tap Pair. Pairing can take a few
minutes, so be patient.
- If the codes are different: Restart your watch and try again.

5. To finish set up, follow the onscreen instructions. Make sure the box for notifications
to Android Wear is checked.

6. When your phone and watch are paired, you’ll see "Connected" on the Android Wear
app on your phone. When they’re not paired, you’ll see Disconnected disconnect on
your watch’s screen.

Change your watch's language
Your watch's language will be the same as your phone's. To change the language on
your watch, switch to a new language on the device it's connected with.

Connect multiple watches (Only for Android)
You can pair multiple watches to a single Android phone or tablet. If your watch is
connected to an iPhone, you won't be able to pair multiple watches to it.
1. On your phone, open the Android Wear app Android Wear.

2. Next to the watch's name, tap the Down Arrow and then “Add a new watch”.

3. Follow the instructions on the screen.

Note: You can’t pair a watch with more than one phone or tablet.

To update your watch to the latest version,

Settings -> System -> About -> System updates

Hi,

Could you try doing a factory reset on your watch. Also, go to your bluetooth settings and "forget" the watch. Afterwards, try pairing it again. Do let me know if this solved the issue.

Hi Tic Watch,

I recently got a replacement Ticwatch E and am trying to reconnect it to my phone.

However the first time round I'm getting stuck at "Getting your watch details on my phone" and "continue setup on phone on the watch".

I have followed the steps on the following links:

"https://www.reddit.com/r/moto360/commen ... our_watch/"

and this guide as well.

But I'm still stuck on those screens.

Please advise

Thank you,

Hello,

Today my Ticwatch E was delivered from Amazon. I have tried repeatedly to pair it to my LG G3 Stylo (running Android 6.0). I have not been able to detect the watch in the Wear OS app. It searches but it never finds it. I never get past step 3 from the above tutorial. I have tried restarting my phone, resetting the watch, reinstalling Wear OS, clearing Wear OS data, restarting Bluetooth on my phone, etc. Nothing has worked. I also tried to pair it with a Samsung S8 and it also did not detect the watch. The watch is running Android Wear 2.0.0.169881869 and Android OS 7.1.1.

If there is any way you could help me resolve this issue, I would really appreciate it.

Thank you

I have tried several times to connect my phone to my new Ticwatch S but it keeps getting stuck at Continue setup on phone and then WearOS gets stuck at setup.

I have tried the following:
- Factory Reset watch
- Remove wearOS app from phone
- Delete Google app cache
- Delete Google Play Services cache
- Delete Google Play Services Wearable data
- Delete WearOS data

None of this worked. I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 8 phone. I have tried this with a Galaxy S8 phone also and it didn't work. Please advise as to what to do or if I need to exchange my watch.

I still cannot get my ticwatch e to connect to my android phone.
I did a factory reset on the watch, and "forgot" the old bluetooth connection on the phone. Still gets hung up at "getting your watch details" after 45 min or so.

HI,
Actually the problem lies in the Bluetooth connection and Google Play Services, first you need to delete all the data from the storage in "Settings - Applications" of the Weareables and do a Factory reset on your weareable.
Once this is done, for my part, I also erase all the Wear OS application data, I give it all the expected permissions and open the application to perform the pairing.

To make sure, previously I have removed all kinds of battery savings from the application and I have put it with a double screen, that is, on one screen I apply pairing and on another an application that does not turn off or inactivate the screen in case that closes the bluetooth connection, in my case, playing a long youtube video.

The process is actually very slow but it works and I already have my Ticwatch S2 synchronized and working perfectly on my Moto G8 Plus.

P.S. It is very important that the display does not turn off until pairing is complete. On the other hand, I have not been able to pair a second watch (Tickwatch S), but it did not worry me much either.
