Step Counter is Not Accurate

Post by heresteve2 » Mon Nov 20, 2017 9:25 pm

Hi I just received my new Ticwatch S and the out of the box the step counter is way off. I walked a few steps and it shot up to 293. It continues to climb at a rate way higher than it should. Is there a way to get this fixed or is the watch defective?

Thanks!

I also face same problem. Any suggestion if a wrong setting was set on? even when I am lying on couch or bed, it's calculating the steps.

Appreciate any help here.

The steps counted by the waving of arm, Maybe that's the reason of miscounting, could you please give more details of the situation?

Same here. Seems that it is recording a lot of "Misc steps"

Can somebody from Mobvoi please respond with a fix? Or at least acknowledge this issue and advise on a fix?

I also find this to be the case as well. during normal 10 hour work day, steps with previous watch were about 11000 a day, tic watch seems to make it double, like it's over sensitive to movements.

I agree with the step count accuracy.
I'm going to test further over the next few days, but the watch is showing twice as many steps as my phone...yes carried same amount.

Not sure if the moderation is just slow, but I've responded to this post already, a few days back...I'll continue with the assumption that my previous post will show up...

I've now tested a few times the Fitness setting on my Tic2.
Now tested on both a treadmill and "live" walk.
I also tested with my phone, more of a pedometer reference.
Treadmill test was solid. Within .2 of the treadmill. Phone was similar.
Outdoor walk. Watch and phone within .03 of each other.
Steps were solid also, within 100 of each other.

So, my guess is the algorithm being used for counting steps when not in fitness mode is in need of refinement.
