Hello guys,

I think problem is due to xiaomi.
xiaomi turn off background process automatically if too many apps are open.
try following solution.
when cloud icon appears on watch, go to mobile - open wear os- select disconnect your watch and then after few seconds again click on connect.
it works for me

Ok found the solution for xiaomi phones atleast.

I have a Redme Note 5 Pro, got the watch yesterday and have been seeing this issue after the update.
I was able to receive notifications and change watch faces, even after opening WearOS app in mobile it was saying connected but the watch showed the cloud icon.
Anyways, this solved the issue for me
Goto Settings --> Battery --> Choose apps --> scroll to WearOS app --> It will be batterSaver(recommended) --> No restrictions.
Switch off bluetooth on Phone and watch. Switch on again. It got connected. Can see in watch --> bluetooth section as connected.

Though my batter life is horrible or i am used to having giant battery mobiles by Xiaomi.

PS. I did it just a few hours ago will update if this fails.

Cancel that back to cloud icon. Thinking about returning it.

SOLUTION: at least for my OnePlus 6

have/had the same issue...
Go to settings, security & lock screen, trust agents.
Disable smart lock, reboot your phone, enjoy :-)

it is weird that the issue always comes few days after the watch's factory reset
Have you had any chance to investigate more on the technical issue?
Surely we gain back access to internet on the watch but we are losing the smart lock feature on mobile...

I did as instructed but still having this issue. You need to restart phone all the time.

It didn't work for me sadly, that's almost a year now since the issue has been reported and still no solution.... :x

Hello , :)

sorry for my English.

So i post here, because i have a TicWatch E up to date (Wear OS 2.2), and a Xiaomi MI A1.
For one year, the MI A1 have Android 8.0.1, and all run perfectly on my TicWatch

the 4 January, i receive the Android ONE up to date ,and Android Pie 9 install on my phone MI A1.

All working good, my ticwatch too.

But i realise , if i switch OFF wifi on my watch, and Wifi is on on my phone, ticwatch working good with the bluetooth, but when i switch off wifi and put cellular data 4G , the TicWatch doesn't working, no data !! no internet :(

I'am going to KFC, connect to Free KFC WIFI, and ..ohh data working on ticwtach. :shock:

When i switch cellular data, yosh, no data no internet. :evil:

this probleme appear when my phone have receive android 9., with cellular data, the watch can't use it in bluetooth link.

For information, i reset the phone and the watch, the problem is the same.
I disable all Smart lock, probleme always here.

some one have an idea??
