TicWatch Pro Button Issue

I just got my watch two days ago through Amazon and I think there's either a bug or I have a defective watch. The problem is on page 3 of the user's guide it says the bottom button can be customized and that a single click will open that app and a double-click will open Google Pay. That's not happening. If I choose an app such Wear Launcher, it will open the Launcher for both a single click and double-click. I've tried different apps with the same result. The only way that Google Pay will open is if I set it as the single-click option. Please advise.

I have the same issue, it appears that double tap will open the last used background app (app closed with the power button). I find I have to open all currently open apps and swipe them to the right to close them before double tap for google pay will work.
