Ticwatch 2 - cracked bottom by expanding battery

Hi,
my Ticwatch 2 used to have very poor battery life since a few days (starting with 100%, after about 4 to 5 hours it's 80%, few minutes later it's dead.), by inspecting it a bit closer I found the bottom of the watch being cracked and bend, something I know from mobilephones when the battery expands for whatever reason. As being one from the kickstarter campain I expect it to be out of warranty, however this might help people to recognize similar battery problems. I also guess this should not be placed on the charging pod again, as it gets quite hot during charge. I have attached two Photos, however, the expanding bottom is hard to catch in pictures. It has never dropped, so the cracks come from something pressing from the inside.

I have had the same problem, with TWO of the Ticwatch 2's. The first one was replaced after one year and I was given a voucher to purchase another watch. I had to purchase the same watch or else no voucher. After only 5 months for this "new" Ticwatch 2, the battery back bulged and cracked.

Worst issue? No warranty or repair available as it was only for 90 days. What kind of company sells broken product and then expects not to replace the watch. I am now out of nearly $500 between the two watches. I would like whoever actually monitors this form to answer and do what is right, give me a different watch.

I would like for Zhifei Li, CEO and co-founder of Mobvoi to contact me and explain why his company will not replace a watch with obvious battery issues.

Hi Andtodo2,

Could you please share with us a bit more on how often you charge your TicWatch?

I had the same problem. The battery is bloated and cracked the bottom. Mine is a ticwatch 2 classic. I charged it everyday from 11pm to 7am. When I usually reach home at 11pm, the battery is usually almost flat.

I have the exact same problem. I bought the Onyx version back in 2017, and right from the start I noticed a very small line beneath the watch. I didn't really care as the watch functioned well, but what I didn't realize was that this was the beginning of a crack which kept expanding slowly as the days went by. I stopped wearing the watch a couple of months ago as the battery life became terrible (around 6 hours), and because the crack became so big that I feared for my safety.

For a watch with such refined steel casing, sapphire glass and smooth software; the battery incident was very disappointing. I remember spending around USD 280 to buy it.

While using the watch there were no weird charging habits: I used to put the watch on the volcano charger around 11 pm and keep it there till I go to work around 7 am.

I've had my Tic watch for over 5 years and have been nothing but pleased with it. This morning, the same thing happened to me. The bottom is bulged and cracked and it will no longer charge. Very sad.

I've h ad the same problem. I have a ticwatch 2 for just over two years and the other day I found the back of the watch broken and swollen. the clock was hot. from that day the battery discharges very quickly (after about 4 hours) and the watch is unusable. what do you plan to do? it is an obvious defect of the battery.

I have the same problem and have only owned my watch for 14 months. I'm wondering how much money the repairs will cost since the warranty for buyers here in the USA is only for 12 months. I own 2 other Mobvoi watches but I've made my last purchase based on this quality control issue and the 12 month warranty.

How do I get a new base and where do I get new battery? This has expanded and cracked the case. It is very hot in charger.
