The Ticwatch doesn't run Android Wear at all. It runs a custom ROM of the normal Android used on phones.

No, the ROM is based on android, not AW. That is, the same android that runs on your phone and your tablet. Sure, it's been modified a lot, but at it's core it's not really AW. That's one of the reasons not all AW apps work properly on it.bozsoki93 wrote:It doesn't run custom rom based android wear?

No need for android wear, if we could get Google Play services to work on the watch. With the 1024 function you can load most apps on the watch.

Google Maps, Google Keep, Google Now, Gmail, Allo, Google Agenda and Drive is what I want
. I don't want full apps running on the watch but a companion that supports those apps running on the phone. Otherwise its pointless on having a smartwatch..
For example: Not the full Google maps app running on the T2 but live notifications with an arrow saying 'go left, go right' etc. etc.

The only thing needed to make these work is google play services, as this is based on a Android rom, the play services only need to be enabled.jerrel1991 wrote:Google Maps, Google Keep, Google Now, Gmail, Allo, Google Agenda and Drive is what I want. Would be nice indeed to see this coming to the watch

Please integrate Google Play services on the ticwatch 2
Re: The Ticwatch 2 will get android wear 2.0 update?
The hardware on ticwatch 2 is almost identical to the S and E, so there's no reason for Android Wear 2 to not run on it. The pple on XDA forums already manage to make it run. The S and E compared to ticwatch 2 are horrible design wise so I would buy a ticwatch 2 with Android Wear.
Re: The Ticwatch 2 will get android wear 2.0 update?
Still, the ticwatch2 specs are mostly the same as the E and S models, so there's no reason why it won't run android wear 2.0. In fact the fine folks at xda forums already have a very early build running on the ticwatch2.iSasFTW wrote: ↑Mon Dec 26, 2016 10:11 pmNo, the ROM is based on android, not AW.
