GPS On Ticwatch E Being Inaccurate, Slow & Buggy

Post by dcxmurphy » Sat May 18, 2019 6:04 am

Hi. Have had my Ticwatch E for a few weeks and noticed that the GPS on it is not up to scratch.

Sometimes the GPS takes forever to lock, on all the apps I've tried (Strava, Ghostracer, Runtastic, built in Tic Exercise). But on most of my runs, when I look at the map afterwards I notice that the starting point is not where I actually started, it is sometimes a couple hundred meters down the road, or inside a house somewhere. And as you can see by the screenshots I've provided, during my runs the GPS can be very inaccurate.

My friend has the exact same watch, and he has not had these issues even when running/riding in the same area. Is there something I can do to fix this? I tried using GNSS but that hasn't had much effect.

Hi dckmurphy,

Please stand still and lock the GPS position first before starting your exercise. If you try to lock position while moving, this may affect the process and cause GPS locking to take longer than necessary/to be inaccurate.

The GPS locking is taking more time, I waited for more than 10 mins but still, the GPS locking is in progress I am very upset with the product.
