Google Assistant No Voice Feedback?

Post by kahsheung » Wed Nov 22, 2017 12:39 am

Hi...Just want to confirm if it's designed that way.

When I activate google assistant and proceed to ask a question, GA found the answer and display it on the screen but there's not voice from the watch dictating/explaining the search result, like on a phone.

Is that the normal behavior? I've checked all volume are turned up.

Can somebody test and let me know?

Will Google Assistant answer with sound or just displaying the answer on screen???

Even on my Huawei Watch 1, Google Assistant only shows text answers on my watch unlike my Moto X Android phone which gives a voice response. Conclusion: Wear 2.0 to 2.6 only allows text replies for Google Assistant questions.

wow here are Tons of Response :)

Maybe a good information is i use German as watch language,
On the FAQ on mobvoi´s homepage stand it only supports spoken Feedback in Englissch and Chinese.

@Mobvoi can you confirm this so far? will there be an update or unlock?

Thanks in advance

Yep. Thats how it is for me. The only app I could use speaker is for phone calls. Didnt try listening to music through the watch, but I hear that works as well

I agree that the lack of feedback seems like a problem. I would expect Assistant to work like it does on the Pixel 1/2 and Android Auto.

We should be hearing feedback from the watch and being able to give further voice commands vs having to touch the watch to finish an action.

"Text Jimmy" ...what message... "we are going to be there late." It should say "do you want to send this?" where I can go "yes" or "send" vs it showing it on the screen for me to fat finger a quick OK to send.

Saddened by this and 2 other problems I reported via email and via threads that have not been approved from moderation. (major inconsistent step counting -and- notifications going off while not on wrist aka charging while I try to sleep vs. my phone being in DND and being so chill).
