I am facing the similar issue.
Ticwatch E not been able to detect location on google maps on its own. If phone GPS is turned ON then only location gets locked otherwise it gets stuck in loading.

I believe there is some issue with the watch GPS. Can it be solved with a software update?

After a bit of playing with debug info (raw sensor values), drawing some clarifying 3D pointers, and comparing Google's specifications, results are:
* Acceleration sensor's axes are all correct. Didn't expect problems here since "bubble" meters were working fine, but I checked it just in case.

* Magnetometer's Z axis is correct (3rd value, the axis supposedly sticking out/up from the watch face).
* Magnetometer's currently reported X axis values should be given in Y axis (2nd value, the axis supposedly pointing towards 12 o'clock).
* Magnetometer's currently reported Y axis values should be negated and given in X axis (1st value, the axis supposedly pointing 3 o'clock/right).

Making those two axis changes and the negation could/should give much better results. Though not sure how well the tilt-shifting will be improved; could be just fine, but difficult to test since all my watch compass apps do something less useful when tilting too much. (Additional difficulty factor was that the local magnetic field seems to point quite steeply downwards, always a challenge for compasses.)

I think it takes some time to push out a new update (because it needs to get tested and certified) but it should be an easy fix.

I also have the same problem that the compass is tilted about 90 degrees, which is obviously visible in Google maps.

I hope that this issue can be fixed soon :)

I just received a system update on my TicWatch E, compass seems to be fixed and accurate now.

It seems that with the latest Google services update the compass is now off by 180 degrees on my watch.

Same problem here on my side. Wonderful watch but this issue is not so nice. But why is there still no statement from Mobvoi? Can you please take care for this and fix?
