I have a Ticwatch S and the on-board GPS does not work.
I have tried restoring to factory default and upgrading the watch OS and Android Wear app but with no luck.
The watch depends on the mobile's GPS. Then why have the on-board GPS?

I have even raised the issue with Mobvoi couple of days ago, and no response from them yet.
Please let me know if you were able to get the on-board GPS working.

I have the same issue. I simply don't have standalone GPS.
GNSS doesn't show any information except for total satellites...

Any answers from the support?

Guess I've also got the issue for my Ticwatch S as well, set the watch with airplane mode and only leave location on, but can't locate myself via most of the common apps like google fit, ticwatch health and maps obviously.
Would like to try to factory reset the watch and see if there's anything different.
Quite disappointed of Mobvoi and they've advertised this as the pillar feature.

I am facing the same issue.
The thing is, everything was working perfectly before the latest update.

Also, it looks like my problem is only with the Strava wear app, since Google Maps works fine.

just today, feb 24, 2018, i received my Ticwatch E and i cannot get the GPS to work. This is very similar to the other complaints, causing things like weather and maps to not function.

Ticwatch people, what's the story? When will you have a fix for this?

The short version is that I'll return the watch to Amazon in few days if this isn't resolved.

Likewise, my Ticwatch e would fine to begin with, but Strava logs hardly anything and as far as I can see it's due to the GPS not locking on. It's not that it doesn't work at all, but it's almost impossible to get a reliable lock.

I don't believe this to be a hardware issue as my first 2 or 3 runs on Strava logged fine.

Can we have some kind of response please mobvoi? The watch will be going back to Amazon if it can't do what it's supposed to which would be a shame as I like it.

Hi, I have ticwatch 2 and facing the same problem. but I think I figure the way to make the gps locked, maybe it works to ticwatch E.

1. Turn off bluetooth from your mobile phone so it disconnected from the watch.
2. Turn on wifi in the watch, doesn't need to connect to any network.
3. Start fitness app in watch, and it should lock the gps now ( maybe takes a minute).

I notice that the gps wont locked with bluetooth connected to the phone.

Hope it can help you guys.
