TicPods are garbage!

I was part of the TicWatch S&E Kickstarter campaign. The reward campaign I participated in also supplied a pair of TicPods. The watch is fine so far but these headphones are hands down the worst set that I've ever encountered; this coming from a person that's owned over 20 pairs through the years.

To begin, there is little to no base; so, everything has a pronounced tinny sound. Secondly, the lag is about 1.5 seconds; which, makes them only good for watching videos if you want to relive your Saturdays of youth watching old Godzilla movies. Finally, the multi-button has too many features to be work effectively. It rarely understands the difference between a pause, Google Assistant or cycling the power.

Just one of these flaws would leave me dissatisfied; but all three does not even warrant the $25 price, let alone your $79.99 "suggested" price. They are currently sitting back in the box they came in and I wouldn't even regift these things to a despised coworker.

Hi Proffink313,

I've had a very different experience to you. I'm disappointed with the watch but the TicPods are really, really good. The sound is clear and detailed, and external sound is excluded very well by the earpiece design. Also I don't have any lag at all when watching videos.

I should note that I have the TicPods paired with my phone (Android, a LeEco Le Pro 3) and I turned the bass up in my music player app. I haven't tried listening through the watch.

Perhaps you should return the TicPods for replacement?

Cheers,
Rob.

I agree...much better experience with the pods for me linked to my iPhone than my experience of the watch so far. Comfy and good sound

Hi Proffink313,

I must admit, when I first tried the Ticpods with the pre-installed silicon ear tips, it sounded 'garbage' to me as well. It turns out that the ear tips were a little too small for my ear canals, So I switched to the largest one, and the sound is way better than when I first tried it. Try it and see if this works :)

However, even with optimized listening experience, I must say I'm not a fan of it because of it's V-Shaped tuning. I'm more of a neutral sound kinda guy :)

Proffink313 is right. TicPods are very poor in the base area. Almost non-existent! And the watches? poor battery life. Right now I regret my decision to buy a bundle Tickwatch E&S with Tickpods. I was expecting more because I am very satisfied with Tickwatch 2.

Same here as Redding/Phatphunk/Robbrown report.
After getting the best fitting ear tips (bigger ones) , sound from Ticpods is very good. Not bass-shy at all.
Streaming from iPhone or directly from watch both works and sounds well.

However I am disappointed from Android wear. It feels like a mobile phone 15 years ago.

Perfectly happy with my TicPods, the base is great, Sound quality wise easily equal to my current favourite pair. Not given them a full workout yet, so not sure how they stack up on battery life, phone calls etc, but if they perform well they're gonna become my g-to set.

I have owned literally dozens of headphones over the last 20 years; so, I'm well aware of how to properly fit a pair of buds into my ears. This means that the first correction that I attempted was switching the silicone inserts.

It's not the inserts.

As for the lag, that is coming from the processor. I've encountered other low-end, Bluetooth headphones with this same issue. It basically translates that it is having trouble keeping up with the sound codec and juggling the wireless signal.

Finally, the issue with the multi-button is likely also related to the processor because it's having a difficult time keeping up with the sound feed that processing the button inputs moves the whole unit into overtaxed mode.

I now keep them in a box on a visible shelf so that I can vent scorn whenever my coffers are full.

I am simply stunned that from an aesthetics pint of view this Company managed to 'try and copy'/copy the most widely ridiculed set of wireless buds out there. I mean who wants to look like they have snot dripping out of their ears.

Ignoring the other important bits like sound quality etc., people (apple fanbois do not fall into this category lol) actually do care what they look like so why copy something that pretty much the whole planet is having a little snigger at... :-(

This really is beyond belief IMHO and pretty much shows how this company thinks, looks like Apple, people love Apple so lets make something that looks like Apple. In this case though, looks a little ridiculous! :-)

Anyone have an issue with only one of them working? My left pod just has the blue flashing light. I have tried to unpair with Bluetooth however it will still only pick up the right pod. Anyone know a fix?
