Ticwatch E – no proximity sensor

Post by Koky999 » Wed Feb 07, 2018 9:59 am

Hello,

I bought Ticwatch E for review at our magazines (pctuning.tyden.cz and svetaplikaci.tyden.cz), because nobody replied to my email before buying. :?

In specification is written (for both E and S version) there is proximity sensor. But after short search there is no proximity sensor. Watch don't turn of display if is covered by sleeve e.g.

Also, there is no functionality when watch are upside down. :(

Some answer and statement for my review and for our Czech readers? Thank you!

I wondered this exact thing. I have the TicWatch2 which definitely has the proximity sensor.

on my tic s there is no proximity sensor to be found. my jacket/hoodie/long sleeve shirt keeps activating the screen... its so annoying with google fit watchface as it hits many things or changes my watch face

I would really like an explanation from Mobvoi on this. They printed Proximity Sensor right on the back of the watch (E). Is it really true that they put that on the back of the watch, but never put a proximity sensor IN the watch? I kind of doubt that, as that would most certainly bring a class action lawsuit, if enough people figured this out. I think it's more likely that it's in there, but not doing anything. Perhaps the Oreo update will fix whatever the issue is?

Can someone at Mobvie please address this issue and explain?
