New Ticwatch e check for updates long time

Just got a new TicWatch E straight from Mobvoi (manufacturers) and been having trouble setting it up.
After connecting to the phone via bluetooth via the WearOS android app, the watch says "Checking for updates..." indefinitely. Nothing I've tried has been successful.
I've tried following every online link for people that have had this problem. From resetting data for Google, Google Play Services, reinstalling WearOS and even using a completely different phone!
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Have you received any response? We're you able to set up the watch?
