This is actually true. I had a replacement charger sent to me from Mobvoi and was really careful to use the proper charger adapter this time. I thought my phone's fast charger was good but it roasted my TicWatch Pro's charging dock. Look for a charger adapter with an output of 5V 1A. :)

For all Ticwatch pro owner who have posted on this topic, from my own experience I know that you need to use a charger with a maximum 1 amp output. This is written on the underside of the charger cradle. Using a higher output charger renders the device useless after a few uses.

Suggestion to Ticwatch manufactures - make this fact clear to users with a clear message in the box when they purchase.

Same issue and I submitted a ticket and didn't get even an initial feedback or SLA time to respond; this is a great watch but it is obviously that the charging dock isn't that good quality as i wasn't charging on fast charging or more than 1A port.

In my case, they even asked me to send the busted charging dock (which is a bit complicated on my part because I purchased the watch through a friend from another country). I hope they can improve the charging aspect of their new watches because I like their aesthetics.

My charging cradle died today after about 7 months of use. Obviously, this is a common problem. Does Mobvoi send a replacement charger when this problem occurs?
Hi jnl,

Yes, if the product was purchased through one of our official stores, we can provide a replacement as long as no man-made damage occured. To request a replacement, please submit a warranty request at support.mobvoi.com using a computer and not a mobile device. Once received, our after-sales team will review the request and then update you via email within a few business days.

Actually inside the Charger there is just a circuitboard with the spring loaded contact pins on it. There is nothing regulating the amperage in it.

Imagine bad contact from the spring loaded pins to the watch caused by dirt, corrosion or so at 1 ampere or more if a more powerful charger is used. The contact will heat up until the spring below the contact pin will glow and loose tension or the solder on that little cicuitboard will melt.
In order to avoid that make sure the contact pins and contact points on the watch are always clean when charging.

There is actually no electronics inside the charging tray itself that could fail, Its all mechanic.

I started to make it a habit to me to spin the watch left and rigt just by a few degrees to kind of "scratch" those pins on the contact points in order to make better contact.

Add mine to the list. Love the watch. I usually charge it off a USB port on the end of an outlet strip where we charge all devices in the kitchen. This one time I used the USB port on the front of the in-dash radio of my car while on an 11 hour trip. Got to the destination and my watch is dead. Have the same result. When placed upon the charging dock I get the little lightning bolt and it will vibrate but it never takes a charge.

I got mine as a Christmas gift, how do I get the dock replaced?

I have the same issue. Purchased mine at the airport in April and it died a few days ago. Seems like there is something wrong with the charging dock as I've only plugged in to regular USB charging head and was working since Apr.

Mobvoi, how can I get a replacement?
