Step counter ticwatch pro far from accurate

Post by Historik » Mon Apr 08, 2019 9:58 pm

Hi,

Step counter on my Ticwatch Pro is not working properly. Easily adds an extra 2000 steps to the step counter in total because of gestures I make (e.g. brushing my teeth) till EOD.

How is this possible and how do I fix this? Is this a calibration issue? At the moment I cant use the step counter at all because obviously its not reliable. Not happy with the watch atm!

Hi Historik,

Try turning off the gesture mode on the watch. TicWatch is programed to detect long periods of arm movement unless you disable the gesture mode. Let me know how that goes.

I have had my Tickwatch E for almost 2 months and the steps have been absolutely bonkers with or without gestures. It is disappointing because I like the watch but now have to put my Fitbit on when I want to track my workout sessions.

Hi Ladylaw,

We are improving our algorithms day by day, Thanks for the feedback. I'll share your feedback with our engineers for further testing.

Is there a way to add a feature so the watch counts steps using gps? For example, you can program it to count steps if the gps detects minimum movement of a certain distance. That way it will count steps when I move a foot or 2 or more.
