Hello,

I think we should open a ticket with Mobvoi.

I also have a problem of step counting with my TicWatch Pro 2020.

I compare it with an Amazfit GTR, an LG Watch R as well as with a Xiaomi band 2 and I have big differences in counting with the TicWatch.
Here is an example for 4:00 p.m .:

Hi florence,

Unfortunately, we can't test our data with different smartwatches because different OEMs use different algorithms to detect steps. We use hand movements to detect number of steps therefore difference in steps between other OEMs is totally normal.

I am adding my personal experience
I am using Google Fit and MobVoi app on iPhone 7 and TICPro
All devices and app are updated to the last version
I always face a numer of steps saved by Mobvoi app bigger than that saved by Google Fit
More or less the surplus is around 30%
I have read on this topic (and others too) the suggestion to unset the gesture that switch on the screen when the wrist is rotated)
SO ... on next days I will verify if this can be considered a simple workaround
I love the gesture that I switched off so ... I am kindly asking to developer Mobvoi team to keep under their attention the issue
Thank you
Paolo

I found that the step count onny ticwatch is out by about 2000 to 4000 steps a day.
The watch is reporting that I complete 10 000 steps but the counter on my phone is recording 6000 over the same time. I have disabled the gestures as suggested but there is no change
Is mobvoi going to address this?

I literally took 10 steps to walk into the washroom and it shows me close to 200 steps (it went from 0 to 174 steps). I had all the gestures on and it was connected to WiFi and Bluetooth.
I'll be testing out again after disabling the gestures (I use the gestures quite often and disabling them will make it less user-friendly and not very fun to use).
Hope there's a fix for this soon (so we can use gestures and step count at the same time). Although, since the post has been here for a long time and there is no fix yet, you never know if it'll be patched.

Hi.
I bought a TicWatch 3 Pro a couple of weeks ago. :D
After the time of use I noticed the same thing. It does not measure steps well. I turned off all gestures and it's still the same.
I used to have another TicWatch, C2 model, and it worked great for me.
The only problem was the battery.
So I changed it for a better model, which I thought would work better, but I was obviously wrong. :(
I ask for a solution.

ticwatch 3 pro, unfortunately the same. the device counts steps when I move my arm sitting or lying. When I hang the laundry, brush teeth, drive the car. This is very disappointing .. mobvoi are you going to finally do something?

Same problem. The step counter always reports more than I step (by a lot!). I turned gestures off but that didn't help. Is anyone working on this? It needs to be fixed.

Hi,

I've also brought a TicWatch Pro 3 GPS to replace my old TicWatch C2 recently. The C2 step count is great, no issue with it. TicWatch Pro3 GPS step count is all over the place. Driving for 10 mins and the step count goes up by 400. Sitting in a chair, the step counts goes up automatically. I hope this will be fix soon.
