I just received my Tickwatch Pro 2020 yesterday and installed the Sleep app from the Play Store. When I open it it warns me that I need to update the fitness app before it will work right. Am I understanding it right that the update for this is actually the firmware update?

So no sleep app till the firmware update?
Google sleep is working fine on my Ticwatch 2020 (owned about a month or so)

@castaway juste go in play store on your watch and update your apps. Do the same on your watch. All will work fine.

Any update on a firmware update? Still on a November 2019 security update while my Fossil Gen 4 watch is on a June 2020 security patch. since August.

To watch Pro 4G user here. No updates. Still rocking 2019 security update. System update shows no update all the time. Cannot get wear os to see latest iterations of app from play store, now on 2.40. I spent WAY too much on this watch for it to be a security nightmare right out of the box. I prepared a Google Pixel phone in order to stay on top of security, never thought the watch would be in the same category as LG Samsung and the like, allowing devices to never update through lifespan. Please attend to these updates. Corona virus aside, I do my IT work from home remotely, and I never lost a beat. Please don't feed us the lines about "the times" and it coding being off track.

Looks like the most important thing now is to sell a new watch, not update the firmware on the previous models.

I think you would have to get the TicWatch Pro 3 to have any sort of update... not sure why this is taking so long...

I own a ticwatch pro (model 2018 I believe). and although my phone's security patch level is set at june 2020, I can relate to most people's feelings about mobvoi's update policy.

Unfortunately this seems common practice with chinese companies. I have some TP link products which have some serious design flaws, but the company is more focused on pushing new products then supporting their existing customer base. Mobvoi seems no different.

I think that maybe we should spread a word and opinions about mobvoi's support and update program. Maybe if their new watch won't be selling that good, they will think. We hear promises just to buy some time and that's it. No hard and specific information.
