Companion app doesn't match watch (HTC U11)

Today I received my new HTC U11 and installed Ticwear companion app in order to pair it with my watch. Unfortunately the app always says "Your Ticwear companion is a stable version and it does not match your watch's beta version ROM. Please download a beta version Ticwear companion to replace the existing one on your phone.".
I'm using the stable version 4.12.0 so it should match the latest companion app from the Play store. Even if I download a beta companion app the installation always fails saying that the downloaded file seems to be corrupted.
So what can I do?

Please download the latest companion version:4.12.1, which can be found in Google Play.

I did that but that didn't solve the problem. Had to factory reset the watch.

Does it work after factory reset? If not, please provide the screenshots?

Hi Team,

I downloaded latest Ticwear Beta version "Tic_4.13.0_intl_a1" on my watch hardware version "Ticwatch2-i18n" and starting seeing similar problem which is Companion app doesn't match watch version. I tried to download latest com.mobvoi.companion.global_2017-09-26.apk file from your site on my mobile and still have pairing issue. I tried to restore my watch to factory default and watch is not falling back to older version.

Can you help me how to recover from this unpredictable state?
