Tips to extend battery life?

Post by superpage » Fri Nov 04, 2016 12:30 am

Does anyone have any tips on how to save battery life? (Other than to put the watch into power saver mode.) I haven't had my watch very long but I have to charge it by late afternoon. Based on lithium-ion batteries, it will probably be about a year before I need a new one.
Thanks!

Depending on your need. You can disable ambient mode, disable tilt to wake, put into flight mode when you don't need your watch connected to the phone, disable wifi, set brightness to lowest.

Disabling the PedoMeter is actually really effective at prolonging battery life. However, the pedometer is a big part of the watch so really it is up to you.
Other suggestions:
Disabling WiFi when you are not needing it (really effective)
Disabling the wrist gestures. Specifically, raise to wake as this keeps putting the screen on unnecessarily, which consumes battery life.
Disabling "OK Tico", this does not really save much but it is something.

Hope it helps :))) We just have to wait till we can disable the GPS.

Can't we just put the watch in airplane mode to disable GPS (and other services like Wifi and so on)?

Of course you can, however I believe that also disables Bluetooth so you will not longer sync and receive notifications from your phone. Therefore, you may as well just go in Power Reserver mode. Also, disabling just the GPS will still allow steps to be counted, just less accurately so it is a compromise for students who don't really care about it

Hi
Can you help me find how to disable the mentioned options or put them to minimum to save battery?
i.e.
ambient mode
pedometer
ok tiko?
or basic settings

I notice I have more less everything to low or disabled but the battery looks like drain very fast.

I would like to make the battery last to its best.

Thanks for you help

Then I would probably blame any app you have installed or watch face. Most often some third-party watch faces drain more battery than usual due to less optimization.

I have done the following to prolong my battery standy
- wifi turned off
- location turned off
- Tic Health app pedometer turned off (I use Google Fit)
- Tic pulse disabled
- Brightness set to 2
- Notification only from Android messages, Calendar, and Gmail. (Rest of the apps I don't care about immediate response)
- Other Tic apps disabled
- No gestures
- Rotate between default watch faces, not installed any third-party watch faces.

My watch standby is solid 1.5 days with music control and replying to texts through the watch.
