Ticwatch doesn't accurately track running.
Just ran more than a mile and it said I had run .6. so I'm walking the same route back home and it's now more accurately tracing my steps. Not surprised. My Fitbit flex was great at tracking my running and workout activity. And that thing is years old now
Re: Ticwatch doesn't accurately track running.
i just completed the standard chartered marathon Singapore 10km.
My tic watch said i only ran 6.9km though

You maybe took the wrong way? Nono, it's a know problem. I have a walk with my dog very often the same way and get different lengths all the time. They differ about 600m by only about 2km complete way. Its a pitty that this bug is still there.
Re: Ticwatch doesn't accurately track running.
will this be fixed ?
can this be fixed ?
is it a software issue and hardware issue ?

Re: Ticwatch doesn't accurately track running.
Similar issue as others are posting. I ran about 2 miles and it recorded that I ran 0.7 miles. The other day it was closer, as I ran 3 miles and it recorded that I ran 2.75 miles. When I walk my dogs, it is much more accurate, but it is also also in "outdoor walk" mode rather than "outdoor run" mode. Should I expect the modes to behave differently?
As an aside, "minutes" is misspelled in the text screen that says to wait for GPS to lock onto my location.

Re: Ticwatch doesn't accurately track running.
I thought someone found out that the issues arise when the watch converts between miles and kilometers, I don't know if that's the case anymore though. I also saw that the GPS inaccuracy had something to do with the phone app, as the tracking would be fine when not connected via BT.
Keep in mind, these are just thoughts I found on the forums posted by other users.
Nevertheless, they seem like software issues, so Mobvoi should be able to fix them via an OTA update.

Re: Ticwatch doesn't accurately track running.
The last two runs I've tracked on my phone and TicWatch separately and they both recorded half the distance on the TicWatch. 5km vs 2.53km and 5.1km vs 2.59km. What is interesting is when the run syncs with RunKeeper although the total distance is wrong the tracked route is correct and it has markers up to 5km on the map.
Re: Ticwatch doesn't accurately track running.
Used Ticwatch 2 for 2 weeks now.
Has NEVER recorded correct distance run. Ticwatch2 cannot sync with runkeeper or Google Fit on Android handset.
Stops recording number of steps when run activity selected.
Additionally:
OK TICO rarely works ( ~ 1 attempt in 20)
Watch becomes unresponsive - sometimes with screen ON so battery becomes exhausted quickly,
Loses Wifi often & forgets password
Supposed to be compatible with Android Wear ... HOW?
So far Ticwatch 2 = unreliable useless rubbish

Re: Ticwatch doesn't accurately track running.
All is just because it does not have GPS in the watch, that's why the track distance is only based on calculation and can be different depending on how fast you walk/run.
unreliable useless rubbish, and they claimed that they have GPS in their promotion

Re: Ticwatch doesn't accurately track running.
Yeah I basically gave up my watch having accurate tracking. It tracks the route perfectly fine, but can't calculate the distance. Will constantly get the 0.6 mi for every 1 mile I run.
