Feature Suggestion: SpO2 tracking during sleep

Post by ravijain87 » Thu Oct 01, 2020 9:31 pm

Hi,

I have a feature request that I think would be more beneficial to users than the two current options for SpO2 tracking..

Currently users have the option for always on or manual tracking. SpO2 is most useful at night for those with sleep apnea. From what I can tell, the 24 hour tracking does one test an hour which doesn't really help someone with sleep apnea.

My suggestion would be to have an option to have SpO2 tracking during sleep as an additional option to 24 hour tracking. At 1 reading an hour, 24 hour tracking does 24 reading's a day. We should sleep about 8 hours but many of us sleep less than that. This new SpO2 tracking option could have 3 reading's an hour whilst sleeping so equating to 24 reading's a night. At a reading every 20 minutes it's still not enough for someone with sleep apnea but is much closer to being useful than having one reading an hour even during waking hours without taking any extra battery life as the same number of reading's would be done just in a more condensed period of time.

Strongly agree that once an hour's is not enough for tracking SPO2 during sleep and this would be a great addition to overall health monitoring.

Obviouslyy this could have an impact on battery life but as an "opt in" feature that perhaps warns of extra drain 9n battery it should not be a problem.

I would furthermore suggest that the frequency of SpO2 readings can be manually adjusted. At daytime I move my arms too much so I only get 1 or two measures during being awake.
If the frequency could me increased, the chance that one correct measure per hour is accomplished is much higher.

You can use the App "Sleep as Android" for that.

Put me down for that also.
Also, the ability to have o2 during essential mode would be super!
