Ticwatch Pro 3 and HMR2 Update

Post by rodger.lyon » Tue Nov 24, 2020 10:44 am

Good morning all, hoping someone can she some light on if the new Wear OS HMR2 Fall update is coming soon for the Ticwatch Pro 3?

Im confused in that it apparently adds 4100 support to Wear OS (somehow our watches already work) and adds a number of efficiency updates that can only improve the watch further.

Any news would be great. Thanks.

Fossil just launched it for their 5th gen watches yesterday.

I would hope that it will be released soon for ours?

As this is the only 4100 watch out there at the moment i'm really keen to see what the improvements mean for the new processor.

If the battery claims from Google are even close then that's an extra day of use.

This does indeed look promising if its coming late this month or early January. Thank you for the email screenshot.

Im a software developer. Any issue can come appear that changes the timeline. Its the only SD4100 watch that is going to be updated to HMR2 and as yet no other manufacturer has had to test the HMR2 optimisations for this processor.

Id much rather they took their time getting it right rather than sticking to an arbitrary timeline. Knowing we are getting it is sufficient for me :)
