Hello Mobvoi!

Got my ticwatch pro 3 gps less 36 hours ago and have few questions ;

1) how do i disble the fstn screen backlight?
2) how can i add heartrate icon to show on fstn screen?
3) I have chosen united states english during setup and now the native weather app on the watch only show temperature in fahrenheit not celsuis so i installed accuweather coz i was able to choose celsuis but cant add accuweather in tiles(only few preset tiles are available to choose from!) and even google assistant shows fahrenheit....any way to change that without having to reset the watch and go through setup again?!

4) another annoying thing is that i have to login to another wifi router apart from the router my phone connected to if i wanted to use wifi only with bluetooth off otherwise i get a "please check your connection" message!!

5) the 577 mah battery on this watch is disappointing......i have aod off, tilt to wake off, brightness set to minimal, nfc off, wifi off, animations off from developer options yet i only get barely under 36 hours on a single charge just because i enabled 24 hours heartrate,sp02 and stress measuring!.....thats much less than the advertised 48-72 hours!!

6) the choice of internet browsers and youtube apps on the watch playstore are very poor....any suggestions?

7) can the system updates be turned off?(not the auto update apps on playstore coz i already have that off!).

Thanks:)

1) Open the Essential Mode App from your app launcher on the watch. Swipe right to settings. Swipe down and toggle off the "ilt to light up backlight" option.

2) Heart Rate doesn't show on the FSTN screen unless you are in a specific activity. For example, during an active workout using the TicExercise app, the FSTN screen will display your workout statistics including Heart Rate. Also, while in Essential Mode pressing the bottom feature button performs a manual HR check. During that check the HR will be shown on the FSTN screen.

3) I'm not aware of any method to change your localization settings without a reset. There may be a way to do it, but I couldn't find one in settings.

4) This sounds like an issue with your WiFi, not necessarily your watch. Wear OS supports connection to the same WiFi network as your phone and that's how most users access WiFi when needed. This problem may require more detailed information or troubleshooting. I've never heard of this before.

5) If you've only had the watch for 36 hours, most of your battery capacity will be used up running through initial setup, updating apps, etc. Give it a few days and after normal use, your battery life should improve. Most users with your setup will see between 48 and 72 hours depending on how often you receive notifications, use the main OLED screen, etc.

6) You are correct, WearOS is not a great platform for web browsing/videos. The screen is very small and UI composition is difficult with that much screen real estate. My suggestion... use your phone for those things. It's never going to be a good experience on Wear OS, even if better apps are released.

7) I don't know of a way to disable system updates.

Thanks!

Thanks for the reply,

Got more questions after i had enough time with the watch:

1) does ticwatch pro 3 have hardware magnetometer/compass and altimeter sensor or only thru gps?

2) Am having a problem with telegram app on wear os on ticwatch pro 3 gps.....i enabled notifications and all permissions in the app but it does not ring or vibrate at all when i receive a message!! any clue??

3) is it normal that the tap to wake option doesnt work when the watch is left on my desk for few hours?!(i have to press the power button once then the tap to wake option comes to life again!)

4) ticsleep did record sleep and it even took heart rate reading when i was not wearing the watch!!

1) Previous versions of the TWP had a magnetometer/compass, but the Pro 3 does not. There is a barometer and GPS.

2) I'm not a telegram user, so I can't help much there. Maybe others can chime in. Do you see the notification, just no ring/vibrate? Check to see that the app has notifications enabled in the Wear OS app as well. There is an option to enable/exclude individual apps from sending notifications to Wear OS

3) Yes, this is normal. When the watch sits idle on the table for an extended period of time it goes into a low power mode. It's not off, but it's something more like the "sleep" or "suspend" mode on your PC and pressing a button wakes it up.

4) Not sure how that's possible... If it continues to do so, you might try a reset. It may be that the sensors are not calibrated correctly...?
