Making a call from contacts

If I use google voice assistant to call a specific number it works as expected and makes the call but if I try to call a specific contact from my list of contacts I get a prompt that reads: "TURN ON" and after tapping nothing happens. Any ideas what's stopping it from actually making the call?

Same thing for me, I think everyone has that problem now. I hope they finally get Google to fix the bug...
