Ticwatch Pro Tic Exercise Strava time keep issue

Post by westinator2 » Sat Jun 08, 2019 2:00 pm

Hello! I'm having an issue where when I sync my activity from my watch to Strava it cuts off a few minutes from my time. (Great for my split times though :D ) Anybody have any ideas for accuracy?

Hi westinator2,

There should be slight difference in results with Strava and other apps, it's totally normal.

Slight difference is expected. But I'm talking 7 minutes in a 50 minute run...

How are you recording the run on your watch? Through Strava wear OS app or through a third party and then loading to Strava? This is a known issue with Strava when importing from Runtastic, Endomondo and probably many more. If you change the 'type' in Strava to make it a 'race', you should see the overall time correct itself.

Or, record directly using the Strava app on your watch.

I've been using the Tic Exercise app then set to sync automatically to my Strava. I could never make the Strava app on my watch work.

I wanted to chime in on this as well. I'm seeing the same thing, although not quite as drastic as the OP.

I'm using Tic Excercise from my watch and recording the activity. It then syncs with Strava once the workout is complete.

Consistently, Strava cuts off the first 30 seconds to 1 minute of my workout. My split times for the first mile look very different in Strava than they do in TicHealth. After running it for many successive workouts, it is consistently the first split that is off, and it seems to be about 30 seconds to 1 minute. Strava always shows a later start time than my watch does.

Here is a very extreme example taken from my new 4G. You can see my Mobvoi results next to my Strava results. These are both the exact same run. However my pace and total time are completely different from one app to the other. How can there be such a huge discrepancy?

Thanks!
Just to clarify, this workout was tracked isn't the Tic Excercise app. The data from the workout then automatically synced with my Strava account since they are connected in the Mobvoi app.
I believe the others in this thread are experiencing the same issue, but wanted to make sure you knew what the particular details of the circumstances were for the support engineers.
