Screen turns off mid operation

Post by james2 » Wed Feb 12, 2020 1:52 am

Hi,
This Ticwatch Pro is driving me a little nuts.
Can be scrolling through a menu, and suddenly it turns the screen off. Have to wake it up again to go back to where you were. It wasn't even after a timeout, it was literally like a second after I finished scrolling. It does this often.

How do you change the timeout anyway? I have tried 2 paid apps off the playstore now to extend the screen timeout, which work to some extent, but there are still screens/apps which it doesnt work for and it times out at the default rate.

I have even had it where it goes from the TFT screen to the LCD (essentials) screen as it should, but some times it goes from the TFT to blank, or from the Essentials to blank, instead of loading up the other screen. Scrolling with finger prompts it to wake up and work as it should. There seems to be bugs here.

Its incredibly frustrating!

Which apps have to tried?

There is no way to change the timeout from within the WearOS settings.

I know this doesn't help your current situation, but I can say that my experience was similar on the Pro. It seemed to me that it was performance related. After upgrading to the 4G model with 1GB RAM, I have not experienced any of what you are describing.

I have StayLit and it works overall, but still it turns off faster than it has been set in many situations.

The lag is rather bad sometimes and seems to make the time it stays lit even more unpredictable.

I only got the watch a few weeks ago, and I dont even see the 4G model on the mobvoi shop...
Where are they from?
I am really unhappy with my purchase so far because of the unbelievable lag.

Perhaps if you could list the apps causing problems it might give someone an idea of what might be happening. I have tried several things and they all stay lit for the set time. Stefan Giesewetter, the developer of StayLit might be able to help, if asked.

Here is the link to the 4G model. What country are you in? That may be why it isn't showing up for you.

You can also pick them up on Amazon. Amazon is an official reseller and carries the same models as the Mobvoi online store.
